The Tbilisi TV tower has lit up with the colours of the British flag as a sign of support and solidarity with the United Kingdom in the fight against the new coronavirus.
Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani wrote on Twitter that “we will stand together and united in this difficult time”.

Georgian Ambassador to the UK Sophie Katsarava also tweeted that Georgian people stand by the UK "at these challenging times".
In response, British Ambassador to Georgia Justin McKenzie Smith has thanked Georgia for solidarity.

Earlier, Tbilisi TV tower was lit up with the colours of the Italian and Spanish flags as a sign of support and solidarity with those countries.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has also expressed solidarity to the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and France via Twitter.
