Prime Minister Giorgi Gakhara has called on Georgian citizens to call 112 if they notice a fever or shortness of breathing.

The first thing you need to do is to call 112 (Georgia’s Emergency and Operative Response Centre) from any region of Georgia if you have any symptoms of coronavirus. If a citizen needs to be taken to a hospital, then he/she will be transferred to a regional so-called fever centre and will be 24 hours under the observation of medics. If the symptoms of coronavirus appear, the patient will be tested for coronavirus. If they have the virus, they will be transferred to a different hospital. Access to telemedicine services is very important for each citizen now”, said Gakharia.

PM Gkharia also mentioned that it’s not always necessary to be transferred to hospital and such cases are managed by family doctors and medics in rural areas quite well.
