A total of 7 billion GEL (about $2.61b/€2.29b) will be spent on the construction of new schools and the renovation of old ones, says the Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze.
We need about 7 billion GEL worth of schools in every village, region and town of Georgia to be equipped with the latest technology; where it will be possible to give lessons along European standards”, said Bakhtadze.
He explained that building new schools is important to make more places available for the pupils at schools so the number of pupils in class should not exceed 13-15.
During the next 5-6 years we will solve this problem across the country”, said Bakhtadze.
Earlier this month, Bakhtadze presented the government initiative: Education - Way to Freedom and said that one-fourth of the state budget will be invested in educational goals.
