Georgia's prized pianist Khatia Buniatishvili will be back to New York's internationally renowned Carnegie Hall performance venue next spring to bring her rendition of classics by Schubert, Liszt and more to concert-goers.
The recipient of two ECHO Klassik awards from the German Phono Academy, praised as "one of today’s most technically gifted young pianists" by the classical music review website Gramophone, will be in the Stern Auditorium on May 21 for the audience.
The Four Impromptus by Schubert will be part of the evening's programme in addition to a range of works by Liszt including the Ständchen, and the Hungarian Rhapsody.
Stravinsky's Three Movements will round off the concert set for a 110-minute runtime at the prestigious hall where the pianist performed with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in 2016.
The Georgian performed Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 20 as well as works by Arensky and Rachmaninoff during the show, part of her US tour.
Earlier this month she joined the London Symphony Orchestra and conductor Gianandrea Noseda in a rendition of Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto no. 1, before performing with the Armenian National Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Eduard Topchjan during the end-of-year festive season.
