Snail farm opens in western Georgia
A total of 200 new enterprises have been financed in Georgia within the United Agro Project, including 25 in Samegrelo.

A snail farm has opened in the western Georgian region of Samegrelo within the the state-run United Agro Project.
The farm, located in the village of Akhali Khibula in Khobi Municipality, produces around 50 tonnes of snail meat per year, mainly for export.

The US Government has plans to provide $500,000 to fund new enterprises in the Georgian villages along the Russian-occupied territories, the US embassy to Georgia has reported. "Residents along the occupation line need special support,” the embassy said

A new fruit and vegetable preserve factory has opened in the eastern Georgian region of Kakheti, employing15 people. Agricultural cooperative Alazani has opened the factory in Sighnaghi municipality with funds from the United Agro Project.
A new Georgian processing plant will produce 1,000 tonnes of snails annually for export to France, the Ministry of Economy announced on Wednesday.
