A new fruit and vegetable preserve factory has opened in the eastern Georgian region of Kakheti, employing15 people.
Agricultural cooperative Alazani has opened the factory in Sighnaghi municipality with funds from the United Agro Project. Over 1 million GEL ($325,732/€276,243) has been invested in the factory.

The new factory is capable of preserving 1000 tonnes of various fruits and vegetables per year, which will be sold on local markets.
82 new factories have been financed in the region within the United Agro Project since 2013.
Blueberry orchards will be planted on 6 hectares in Senaki, a town in Georgia’s Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, within the state-run project ‘Plant the Future’, aiming to stimulate the region’s agricultural industry.
A brand-new fruit and vegetable preserve factory has opened in the eastern region of Georgia, Shida Kartli. 20 locals are employed in the factory on a permanent basis, while 10 will be hired seasonally.
Georgian company established a year ago in the Georgian region of Shida Kartli will export its preserved fruit and vegetables to the United States. A total of 212 new enterprises have been financed in Georgia within the United Agro Project from 2013, including 26 in Shida Kartli.
A snail farm has opened in the western Georgian region of Samegrelo within the the state-run United Agro Project. A total of 200 new enterprises have been financed in Georgia within the United Agro Project, including 25 in Samegrelo.
