Almond orchards planted on 10ha in Georgia’s Shida Kartli region

New almond orchards have been planted on 10ha of land in Georgia’s eastern region of Shida Kartli within the state-run project Plant the Future, aimed to stimulate agriculture in the country.

Tkhoty Valley has received 38,298 GEL (about $12,938/€11,747) from the state to plant the orchards and set up an irrigation system in the village of Aghaiani of Kaspi Municipality.

Launched in 2015, Plant the Future project aims to assist farmers produce high quality products that would be highly competitive on local and international markets.
