Passenger traffic down 11% in August at Georgian airports

Georgian airports served 583,104 passengers in August 2019, which is 11 per cent less compared to the same period of last year, United Airports of Georgia announces. 

However, since the beginning of the year up until August, Georgian airports have experienced an eight per cent growth in passenger traffic, serving 3.6 million passengers. 

In August 2019 Georgian airports served:

  • Tbilisi International Airport - 397,045 passengers (a 14% decrease y/y)
  • Batumi International Airport - 96,474 passengers (a 20% decrease y/y)
  • Kutaisi International Airport - 88,138 passengers (a 22% increase y/y)

In January-August Georgian airports served:

  • Tbilisi International Airport -2,651,918 passengers (a 3% increase y/y)
  • Batumi International Airport - 444,310 passengers (a 5% increase y/y)
  • Kutaisi International Airport - 538,234 passengers (a 41% increase y/y)
  • Queen Tamar Airport in Mestia and Ambrolauri airport - 6,361 passengers (a 16% increase  y/y)
