Fast and Furious 9 filming starts in Tbilisi, movement to be restricted on some streets

Some streets in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi will be closed, as the shooting of a 10-minute segment for a Hollywood film Fast and Furious 9 is starting. 

Shooting will start tomorrow and end on September 20, therefore, the following streets will be temporarily closed in Tbilisi and Rustavi, a town close to the capital:

  • August 18-27: Vazha Pshavela Avenue
  • August 26-September 3: Rustaveli Avenue
  • August 30-September 8: Rustavi Market adjacent territory
  • September 7: Freedom Square and Pushkini Street
  • September 8-16: Nutsubidze 4th Plateau
  • September 16:University Street

Fast and Furious 9 is produced by Universal Pictures and directed by Justin Lin. Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez and Dwayne Johnson are among the main cast. The film is set to be released in May 2020.
