The Minister of International Trade Diversification of Canada Jim Carr has invited Georgia to an international fair in Canada which will bring together companies in the industry of natural resource exploitation.
The invitation came at a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze which was held at the World Economic Forum taking place on 22-25 January in Davos, Switzerland.
Key topics of discussion were the recent success stories of Georgia, including Free Trade Agreements (FTA) and rich hydro resources of the country.
The focus was on trends in international trade, along with the diversification of Canadian trade policy. Bakhtadze noted that the effective integration of Georgia in the global economy is the main goal of the government.
Bakhtadze and Carr discussed the significance of essential trade-specific infrastructure development and efforts made by Georgia towards this end.
Prime Minister Bakhtadze held meetings yesterday with the Swiss Federal Councillor, the COSCO Shipping Corporation, Stena Rederi, China Minsheng Investment Group and the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
At the end of the day Bakhtadze attended a private reception hosted by the the executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwab and his family. Bakhtadze posted on his Twitter account that he is grateful to Schwab family for the "wonderful reception".

Bakhtadze and a Georgian delegation arrived in Davos on 22 January in order to participate in the World Economic Forum’s 49th session.
