One of the largest companies in the field of maritime transportation Stena Rederi is interested in organising maritime transportation from Georgia to Europe and Asia.
The notion was raised at a meeting between Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze and the chief executive director of Stena Rederi, Carl Hagman.
Georgian Economy Minister Giorgi Kobulia also attended the meeting and said that more active ferry transportation between Georgia and the Europe will increase Georgia’s transportation capability. See the relevant post on Twitter account of Ministry of Economy below:

At the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum taking place on 22-25 January in Davos, Switzerland, Bakhtadze and Hagman talked about Georgia’s marine potential.
I think Georgia has a lot of interesting potential to develop in the Black Sea. I come from the shipping company and we have been discussing how we create networks of transportation in the Black Sea. Georgia is geographically very well suited. I think Georgia has excellent governance and PM's enthusiasm about his country is shared by me”, said Hagman.
Today Bakhtadze also met with the president of the Chinese Minsheng Investment Group Lu Benxian, who expressed interest in investing in Georgia.
