Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the sidelines of the Davos World Economic Forum to discuss joint strategic projects which carry regional and international importance.
Georgia and Azerbaijan have a common vision concerning strategic issues. We are involved in joint transport and infrastructural projects which carry geopolitical importance taking the current situation on the world into account,” Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani stated after the meeting.
He said that the prospects for further encouragement of trade-economic ties between the two countries have also been discussed.
Aliyev and Bakhtadze also mentioned the importance of the development of infrastructure and spoke about the potential the two countries have to attract cargo shipments from Central Asia, the prime minister’s press office reported.
The importance of the Trans Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP) and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project were also discussed.
