14 protesters out of those detained during clashes with police last night have been sentenced to 12 days of administrative detention.

They were sentenced for hooliganism and clashes with the police.

The Georgian Interior Ministry called on the public to call the General Inspection hotline – 126 - to be informed regarding those arrested.

The Ministry reported the arrest of 305 people during protests last night.

As the agency has stated the protestors violated public order and the police had to prevent the public disorder by means of non-lethal weapons and water cannons.

The visit of three Russian MPs to Georgia was followed by severe protests by the public and opposition MPs yesterday after Russian MP Sergei Gavrilov occupied the parliamentary speaker’s seat.

The protest transformed into clashes with police after protesters tried to enter the parliament building. Afterwards the riot police used tear gas, water cannon and rubber bullets to disperse the rally.

Protesters threw bottles full of water, stones and other things at the police that resulted in their detention.
