Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze says that Georgian and US officials are negotiating very intensively to allow direct flights between Georgia and the US.
More than 100 flights are carried out for now to Georgia from many of the European, Asian and Middle East countries. We are working very intensive regarding the issue with the US,” Bakhtadze said at the 3rd annual US-Georgia strategic partnership conference in Washington DC yesterday.
He said that several years ago Georgia had direct flights only several of the European states and this created a serious problem both for Georgian nationals and foreign visitors.
Senior Managing Director at Cerberus Capital Management Alexander Benar said after Bakhtadze’s speech that the reforms which have been carried out in Georgia are “really impressive.”
He stated that Georgia is a leader in terms of simplicity of starting up business and even precedes many of European countries in the component.
Bakhtadze is scheduled to complete his US trip tomorrow.
