Georgian police have detained six for stealing money with the use of cards for public transport in Tbilisi.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reports that the individuals broke the computer system of the Metro Service + company issuing the cards, and would place virtual money on several of its cards.
Following this, the group would sell the cards with virtual money to tourists.
Since 2019 the Metro+ has suffered 136,000 GEL [50,000 USD] in losses by the group,” the ministry says.
The detainees face six years in prison.
