Four detained for stealing half a tonne of Saperavi grapes in Kvareli, Kakheti region

Four individuals have been detained for stealing half a tonne of Saperavi grapes from vineyards in Kvareli municipality, Kakheti region, says the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Law enforcement officers arrested the individuals when they entered vineyards which were not their property at night and were stealing Saperavi grapes.
They have been charged with theft, a crime punishable by one to seven years in prison.
Police seized about half a tonne of Saperavi grapes as evidence.
Georgian Agriculture Minister Levan Davitashvili and Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani have hosted foreign diplomats at a grape harvest in Tsinandali, in Georgia’s eastern winemaking Kakheti province.
The grape harvest is continuing actively in Georgia’s eastern wine region of Kakheti, where as of today, 133,000 tonnes of grape have already been processed.
Police have detained an individual in Georgia’s Black seaside region of Adjara for stealing money through Internet fraud that affected dozens of people. The Georgian Interior Ministry reported today that an individual identified as G.I. received 8,000 GEL [Up to $2,919/€2,588] through fraud since December 2018.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reports that the individuals broke the computer system of the Metro Service + company issuing the cards, and would place virtual money on several of its cards.
