Police detain one for taking hostage, holding up ‘iPlus’ shop in Tbilisi

Georgian police officers have detained one person today for taking a hostage while holding up an Apple product retail store, iPlus, in Tbilisi.
Police say that the 33-year-old detainee, identified as N.R., rushed into the shop located on Pekini Avenue and threatened one of the employees with a knife.
The detainee used force and demanded the employee to give him money and his mobile phone.
He also destroyed shop inventory and goods that were displayed for sale.
Police arrested N.R. at the scene. He faces from seven to ten years in jail.
iPlus is an Apple authorised retail seller in Georgia.

Police have detained an individual in Georgia’s Black seaside region of Adjara for stealing money through Internet fraud that affected dozens of people. Georgian law enforcers have detained one Georgian and two Turkish citizens for the illegal use of computer data and stealing $73,000 from the accounts of two key banks in Georgia - TBC and Bank of Georgia. The detainees face two to 10 years in prison. The Interior Ministry said that the case was solved with the close cooperation with banks.
