Georgian police officers have detained one person today for taking a hostage while holding up an Apple product retail store, iPlus, in Tbilisi.
Police say that the 33-year-old detainee, identified as N.R., rushed into the shop located on Pekini Avenue and threatened one of the employees with a knife.
The detainee used force and demanded the employee to give him money and his mobile phone.
He also destroyed shop inventory and goods that were displayed for sale.
Police arrested N.R. at the scene. He faces from seven to ten years in jail.
iPlus is an Apple authorised retail seller in Georgia.
