Products of some of the world’s biggest sportswear manufacturers, including Nike, Puma, New Balance and Under Armour, will soon be made in Georgia’s Black Sea port town of Poti.

Adjara Textile’s new factory, which opened today, will employ around 3,000 people.

The total cost of the factory is estimated at about 40 million GEL, of which 25 million GEL has been already invested.

The factory was opened as part of the state program ‘Produce in Georgia’.

The program has also supported the establishment of a factory in Georgia’s western region of Guria, which is expected to open later this year. About 350 people will sew jeans for Zara, MANGO, Massimo Dutti and other prominent fashion retailers in the Guria factory.
