Georgia to produce 2 million jeans wear for world’s fashion retailers per year

About 350 people will sew jeans wear of Zara, MANGO, Massimo Dutti and other brands from the world’s biggest fashion retailers in Georgia’s small town of Ozurgeti.

The new factory, which is due to be opened in the western region of Guria in 2018, is supported by the state program ‘Produce in Georgia’.

The State gave the land and the buildings located on it to Georgian company Ozurgeti Garment which is responsible on opening a new factory there.

As Georgia’s Ministry of Economy announced, the founder of Ozurgeti Garment also owns the Turkish textile production network Baykanlar, which cooperates with the world’s biggest fashion retailers.

Over 1.7 million GEL will be invested in opening a new factory in Ozurgeti.

Made in Georgia will be printed on labels on the inside of around two million jeans clothes of Zara, MANGO, Massimo Dutti and other brands which will be produced in Georgi. 

To note, so far in Georgia 287 projects have been supported by the state program ‘Produce in Georgia’.
