Georgia is fostering its growing textile industry by building a new factory in the capital city of Tbilisi.

Georgia’s Economy Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili opened a new factory Tiflis Textile today.

Tiflis Textile was opened within the state program ‘Produce in Georgia’.

The factory is equipped with modern machineries and equipment.

Currently Tiflis Textil employes 50 people, while the total volume of investment amounts over 6 million GEL.

"Production produced by Tiflis Textile will be demanded on local market taking into account its high quality. It is very important that the production will also be exported which will reduce our tax balance and bring more currencies in the country”, said Kumsishvili.
