Textile Company Imeri has become the official supplier of the UK's largest clothing manufacturer, Marks & Spencer, announced Enterprise Georgia today.
Clothes made by Textile Company Imeri will be sold in different countries, in the famous brand M&S stores, with the label Made in Georgia attached.
The Textile Company Imeri has existed for 90 years. The company has had European partners for the last 20 years and 90% of its products are exported. The company produces clothes for the local market with its own brand.
The company has two branches in the city of Kutaisi, western Georgia.
In 2017 the company became the beneficiary of Enterprise Georgia and received €315,000 in co-financing.
As a result of this, Textile Company Imeri was able to launch a new factory in Kutaisi. The range and the quantity of the production increased.
Currently, up to 600 people are employed by the company.
“Made in Georgia” will be printed on labels on the inside of the clothing of Swedish fashion retailer H&M.
Products of some of the world’s biggest sportswear manufacturers, including Nike, Puma, New Balance and Under Armour, will soon be made in Georgia’s Black Sea port town of Poti.
