52 internally displaced families from Georgia’s Russian occupied territories have received new flats in the country’s western city of Kutaisi, announces Georgia’s Ministry of Health and Labour.
At this stage, internally displaced families who were living in damaged buildings that posed a threat to their lives received apartments, the ministry explained.
245 more new apartments have been purchased for resettling internally displaced families in Kutaisi. Six new buildings are under construction now in the city to give places to 480 families.
In total, 725 flats will be handed to internally displaced families in 2019, said the ministry.
Since 2013, about 1,300 internally displaced families have received flats in the Imereti region of Georgia, the capital city of which is Kutaisi.
