The drills were initiated by Georgia.
NATO expresses its clear support towards Georgia through holding the drills. At the same time the step has a practical goal, as Georgia is hosting joint drills,” Temur Kekelidze, head of Georgia’s Maritime Police stated at a joint press conference on a Turkish vessel yesterday.
He stated that Georgia’s Coast Guard ships will receive helpful experience via the joint exercises.
