Deputy Assistant Secretary in the US State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink stated today that Georgia is a leader in democratic and economic reforms and that Donald Trump’s administration firmly supports policies carried out by the Georgian Dream leadership in Georgia.
Brink made the statement at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies in Washington during a scientific conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Georgia.

All the US administrations have expressed their firm support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Georgia is the US’s reliable strategic partner, especially in global security.
The Georgia-US partnership has become stronger under President Trump’s leadership. This particularly concern security and economic fields ,” Brink stated.
She said that Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili’s visit to the US and the US Vice President Mike Pence’s arrival to Georgia within three months from Trump’s coming to power spoke about the "very strong ties” between the two countries.
Brink spoke about US financial support to Georgia and the decision of the Trump administration to suspend financial aid to those countries which recognised Georgian occupied regions as independent republics.

Brink said that the US administration believed that the current Georgian leadership’s attitude to settle conflicts peacefully was the right approach.
She praised Georgia for its contribution in international peace missions and stated that the door of NATO was open to those countries which respected the alliance’s values and contributed to international peace.
