Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili says that today’s approval of the visa waiver for Georgians is an expression of political support of the European Union towards Georgia.
Kvirikashvili spoke to the press after European Parliament President Antonio Tajani and the Parliamentary Secretary of Malta, EU Council Presidency holder country, Chris Agius signed new legislation lifting visa-requirements for Georgians in Brussels earlier this afternoon.
"Today the European Union’s doors have opened to Georgians. This is no longer just a step towards Euro-integration but a tremendous achievement”, Kvirikashvili said.
He added that Georgia now should continue with its reforms and become "a true member of the European family”.
