Georgian Dream ruling team has named its candidate in Tbilisi for the upcoming local elections in the autumn.
Kakha Kaladze, who has been the country's Energy Minister up to now, was named as the party’s mayoral candidate today.
The members of the political council made a unanimous decision to name Kakha Kaladze as the Georgia Dream-Democratic Movement’s candidate of mayor in Tbilisi”, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili said.
The United National Movement (UNM) opposition has already named Zaal Udumashvili, while the European Georgia - Elene Khoshtaria as their candidates for the mayoral race.
Georgian capital of Tbilisi had been led by an international recognised academic and the country’s former Infrastructure Minister David Narmania so far.
