Prime Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kvirikashvili today hosted the final Governmental meeting where he evaluated the Cabinet of Ministers’ activities over the last four year before the country’s new Parliament approves the new Government in the coming days.

Addressing the ministers in the afternoon,  Kvirikashvili stressed "we can say now we all had done the job over the last four years that was very important for our country and people.”

Kvirikashvili stressed he was "most proud” that the key priority for the Georgian Dream Government was "a human”.

That’s why we offered the General Healthcare Program that enabled thousands of our people receive free treatment. We paid much attention to our socially vulnerable and internally displaced population,” the PM stressed.

Kvirikashvili stated it was a "very big progress” now people could freely express their views, have a free right of choice, free court and media.

In fact, in all directions, in terms of democracy  or economics, Georgia shows advancement  according to the surveys and reports released by international organisations,” Kvirikashvili stated.

In his address the PM also highlighted Georgia’s progress to the Euro-Atlantic integration, emphasised the importance of signing the Association Agreement (AA)  and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) deals with the European Union.

The PM stressed the agreements "opened up completely new prospects for Georgia and its private sector.”

We also established very important trade connections with the East,” the PM stated.

The PM said the "huge support” of the Georgian people revealed in the last month’s Parliamentary Elections, where the ruling party gained 115 seats in the 150-member legislative body, meant more responsibility for the new Parliament and Government.

In the context the PM highlighted the significance of the Government’s Four-Point Reform Plan, which includes new tax benefits, infrastructure plans, governance reforms and an overhaul of the education system.

Implementing of the reforms will definitely provide more welfare for our people,” Kvirikashvili stated.

In his speech the PM thanked his predecessors Bidzina Ivanishvili and Irakli Garibashvili for their merit and efforts to the state.

The PM also thanked Georgia’s Minister for Diaspora Issues Gela Dumbadze for his activities, as in the future the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia and Ministry for Diaspora Issues will be merged.

Kvirikashvili stressed Dumbadze’s high role in returning Leuville Estate to Georgia and his efforts to ensure transporting and burying deceased Georgian diaspora representatives to the homeland.

The PM stressed the state attitude to the diaspora issues should become "more large-scaled” and this would be easier under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Kvirikashvili announced Dumbadze would continue his career in the diplomatic service.
