The Central Election Commission (CEC) has summarised the second round of the 2016 Parliamentary Elections in Georgia, noting the electoral process took place in a peaceful environment where voters could cast their votes freely.
The elections occurred in a peaceful environment and voters had an opportunity to express their will. There were some incidents, but overall the process was carried out in a transparent manner,” said CEC chairwoman Tamar Zhvania at today’s media conference.
She said none of the serious violations reported to the agency could or would affect the outcome of the runoff elections.
In total 195 complaints were registered at the District Electoral Commissions. The majority of the complaints were related to technical and procedural violations.
