The British and the Netherlands Embassies stated today they will observe the second round of Georgia’s Parliamentary Elections on Sunday.

British Ambassador Justin McKenzie Smith stressed the importance of the electoral process for further strengthening Georgian democracy and urged people to go and vote in the run-offs for 50 majoritarian districts.

It was fascinating to watch ‘democracy in action’ as many of us observed the Election Day on October 8 in Tbilisi and across the country,” the British Ambassador stated.
I am looking forward to doing some more observation on October 30. I hope as many people as possible will make time to go and vote,” the Ambassador added.

The second round of the Parliamentary Elections was required as none of the candidates in 50 majoritarian districts out of total 73 managed to overcome the mandatory 50percent threshold.
