The Italian company that constructed the Tbilisi House of Justice has denied responsibility on the safety of a Governmental building damaged by bad weather on December 3 last year.
The roof of the main hall was significantly damaged in the storm and was immediately closed by the Ministry of Justice citing safety reasons.
In an announcement today, Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani said the Ministry had received a letter from the Italian contractors stating Government employees and public citizens were forbidden to enter the main hall of Tbilisi House of Justice and the company could not take responsibility for the safety issues.
Since the December storm, the outer perimeter of the House has been guarded by security as issues of safety were still evident.
Tbilisi House of Justice is a Governmental agency that provides a variety of public services. Latest data claimed more than 7,800 citizens received services at the House on a daily basis.
Tsulukiani said construction work had begun and the hall was projected to reopen in early spring, weather depending.
