The Justice House of Tbilisi has not been commissioned officially though it has been in operation since 2012, a report of the State Audit Office of Georgia reads.
The stated reason is ‘inconsistency with the agreed upon construction project.’
Not all the shortcomings related to the operation of the building have been eliminated,” the report says.
The State Audit has issued a recommendation for the Ministry of Justice to address the issues by preparing a schedule which will allow for the identification and correction of deficiencies related to the functioning of the Justice House.
The House of Justice in Tbilisi was opened on September 21, 2012 at a cost of 82,734,605 GEL by 2014.
The report of the state body also says that ‘the assets were incorrectly classified as other non-financial assets as of December 31, 2020’, noting that the Justice House made the correct classification of the asset in 2021.
The building, the total area of which is 32,000 square meters, was designed by Italian Architect Massimiliano Fuksas.
The roof of the building collapsed due to strong winds in 2013, after which the building was renovated.
