Geneva Discussion Chairman meets Georgian Government

International security agency representative and the Geneva Discussions chairman Antti Turunen arrived in the Georgian capital early this morning, January 20.

In the framework of Turunens visit in Georgia, Turunen and Georgias Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze will discuss illegal activities undertaken on Georgian Territory by the Russian Army, including barbed wire installation.

During the bilateral talks, the sides will also debate issues expected to be discussed at the 27th round of Geneva Talks, scheduled to take place on March 26.

Talks between the two leaders, formally known as Geneva International Discussions, were launched after the August 2008 war. The meetings are co-chaired by representatives from the European Union, United Nations and Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe OSCE. Representatives from Georgia, Russia, and The United States of America as well as from Sokhumi and Tskhinvali, also take part in the discussions.
