You can now learn about Georgian authors and book translations set to be presented at the Frankfurt Book Fair even before going to the event launching next week.

The Georgian representation at what is promoted as "the most important international trade fair” for literature is presented on a new website.

Works by acclaimed and award-winning authors including Zaza Burchuladze, Ana Kordzaia-Samadashvili and Lasha Bugadze set for presentation at the fair are all showcased on the page.

The Frankfurt fair will be launched with an occasion involving high-profile officials next Wednesday:

A catalogue on the authors and schedule for events involving writers, book agencies and industry professionals can also be found in relevant sections of the website.

A concept devised by organisers of the Georgian participation is also highlighted, with the video animation Georgia Made by Characters briefly explaining key subjects and stories about the country based on its alphabet.

The Frankfurter Buchmesse starts next week. Even though we will be guest of honour next year, we would like to start the journey with you to Georgia - Made by Characters. We are very happy to share our experiences here with you", said a summary of the promotional project on its Facebook page.

The title of the Guest of Honour will be taken over by Georgia from the French representation on the final day of this year's fair.

Events presenting Georgian literature to book lovers in Germany will continue to be held in weeks and months following the conclusion of the fair days.
