On April 4, 2017 we signed an Agreement on Operational and Strategic Cooperation with Europol to expand cooperation to combat serious and organised cross-border criminal activities. Thanks to this strategic agreement Georgian police established itself in the big police family of Europe. My police officers all the achievements and success are result of your hard work … and thank you for this,” said Mghebrishvili.

Meanwhile, with a minute of silence Georgian officials paid tribute to the memory of hundreds of police officers who died while on official duty.

A number of policemen were killed during performing their official duties. They are heroes of our time,” said Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili who attended the Police Officer Day.

The Prime Minister congratulated the policemen on the professional day and thanked them for serving the country, public order and safety of citizens.

Your work requires great responsibilities and high professionalism. You often risk your own life. We have many examples of personal self-sacrifices… We are step by step becoming the part of the Western world and international police cooperation is crucial in this direction… We are building the civilised country where the order is achieved by punishing offenders in a way so that the law should be protected. Our goal is the Police to be closer with people and have more faith,” said Kvirikashvili.
