Maka Botchorishvili, the Chair of the European Integration Committee of the Georgian Parliament, on Monday said there were “opportunities” for a “gradual integration” of Georgia into the European Union.
In her remarks over the ongoing Conference on the Common Foreign and Security Policy and the Common Security and Defence in Bruges, she said the Georgian delegation would review reforms and implementation of the recommendations outlined by the European Commission for opening accession talks with the country.
There are opportunities for the gradual integration of Georgia into the European Union - the single market of the European Union - and it is important for us that these opportunities are opened for Georgia as quickly as possible”, Botchorishvili said.
The Parliament official also highlighted the importance of making the bloc’s enlargement policy “effective” and to run the process “without delays”.
