Relations between Georgia and the European Union were discussed on Tuesday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze and Pawel Herczynski, the European Union Ambassador to the country.
In the conversation, Kobakhidze stressed Georgia “belonged in” the EU, the Government Administration said.
The officials assessed last week's visit of the Prime Minister in Brussels and “high-level” meetings hosted within the trip, noting the relations were “at the highest level” and Georgia was “firmly” standing on the European path.
The meeting focused on the agenda of reforms on the path of integration into the European Union.
Kobakhidze stressed his Government’s next priority was to open accession talks with the EU, which it was “actively working on”, including through the implementation of the relevant steps determined for Georgia by the European Commission.
The Prime Minister also discussed with the EU Ambassador the dynamics of the implementation of the priorities given in the enlargement report.
