Klaus Waldner, the Race Director of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation, on Saturday said the Snowboard Cross World Cup was organised in Georgia’s ski resort of Bakuriani by the country’s Mountain Trails Agency “at the highest level”.
In his comments to the media, Waldner noted “all safety measures” were followed at the tournament, stressing “it has been one of the best competitions we had this season”.
In his turn, the MTA Director Irakli Burchuladze highlighted “the best evaluations” from FIS representatives and the athletes competing in the tournament, adding “everything has been done at an ideal level”.
Didveli Mountain in Bakuriani is hosting the final stage of the event on the weekend, with 60 athletes from 12 countries participating in the championship.
Last weekend about 90 athletes from 17 countries also participated in the World Cup in Georgia’s ski resort Gudauri.
