The Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II on Friday “heartily” congratulated Irakli Kobakhidze on his appointment as the country’s Prime Minister by saying “May God grant that your work brings peace, prosperity and further success to Georgia”.
As you know, this is a very honourable position and at the same time, a great responsibility, especially in our difficult times [...] God bless you in the service of our nation and country”, the Patriarch noted.
The Georgian Parliament on Thursday approved Kobakhidze, the former Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, as the head of the Government with 84 votes in favour and 10 against.
