Irakli Kobakhidze, the newly appointed Prime Minister of Georgia, on Sunday visited the Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia Ilia II to discuss the development of the country and the relationship between the church and the state.

At the meeting, held at the Patriarchate of Georgia, His Holiness once again congratulated Kobakhidze on his appointment, the Government Administration said.

 

 

The Georgian Parliament last week approved Kobakhidze, the former Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, as the head of the Government with 84 votes in favour and 10 against.
