The commercial advertising revenue of Georgian broadcasters increased by 18.8 percent in 2023 year-on-year, with the figure reaching ₾95 million ($35.78mln), the national Communications Commission said on Thursday.
The regulatory body, responsible for broadcasting and electronic communication, said TV station revenue alone had increased by 18.6 percent y/y to ₾87.4 million ($32.92mln) last year.
The share of direct advertising revenue was 67.7 percent of total TV station figures, while the share of sponsorship decreased by 3.1 percent y/y and product placement increased by 1.4 percent.
For radio outlets, the total advertising revenue increased by 21 percent, to ₾7.6 million ($2.86mln), of which direct advertising comprised over 90 percent and sponsorship under 10 percent.
Commercial revenue measured by the Commission includes commercial advertising, sponsorship, product placement, teleshopping and classifieds.
