The commercial advertising revenue of Georgian broadcasters increased by 23.5 percent in the third quarter of 2023 year-on-year, with the figure reaching ₾19.9 million ($7.40mln), the national Communications Commission said on Wednesday.
The regulatory body, responsible for broadcasting and electronic communication, said TV station revenue had increased by 23.3 percent y/y to ₾18.2 million ($6.77mln) in Q3.
The figure included a 74 percent rise in direct advertising revenue, while the share of sponsorship decreased by 3.5 percent y/y and product placement by almost one percent.
For radio outlets, the total advertising revenue increased by 25 percent, to ₾1.7 million ($0.63mln) in Q3, of which direct advertising comprised over 90 percent and sponsorship under 10 percent.
Commercial revenue measured by the Commission includes commercial advertising, sponsorship, product placement, teleshopping and classifieds.
