The Georgian Border Police on Wednesday said its professionals had held cooperation visits with Turkish counterparts to share maritime security experience between the coast guard units of the two countries.
A patrol ship of the Georgian Coast Guard visited the Turkish city of Samsun, while a Turkish Coast Guard vessel docked at the Coast Guard Department base in Poti, a port city on Georgia's Black Sea coast, as part of the visits.
Joint maritime practical exercises were conducted in both countries, involving Georgian and Turkish coast guard vessels, with the crews also taking part in sports and cultural events organised as part of the programme, the Border Police added.
