Frode Røte, the Head of NATO’s Allied Maritime Command’s International Military Cooperation Directorate, Captain of the First Rank, along with the delegation, visited the base of the Coast Guard Department of the Border Police of Georgia’s Interior Ministry in the country's Black Sea port city of Poti, the Border Police said.

At the introductory meeting, Ramaz Papidze, the Director of the Coast Guard Department, introduced the operational and mission support capabilities of the Coast Guard to the visiting delegation, who also visited the Operations Control Service, Dioskuria patrol boat, and the engineering and repair infrastructure.

The body noted the officials had also discussed the existing cooperation between NATO’s MARCOM and the Georgian Border Police in maritime security, including the planned and implemented measures.

Within their tour to the western region of Georgia, the NATO representatives also visited the Joint Maritime Operations Centre, where they were briefed on the centre’s activities, the Border Police added.
