PM inspects new rowing base in Georgia’s port city of Poti

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Sunday inspected a newly opened rowing base in the country’s Black Sea port city of Poti, the Government Administration said.

The Head of the Georgian Government, along with other officials, got acquainted with the base infrastructure, met athletes and attended a competition.

Kobakhidze highlighted the importance of the new sports facility, claiming it would “contribute to the further development of this type of sport”.

We have had considerable achievement in this field in recent years and we need even more success. This infrastructural facility will further contribute to our success in this sport”, the PM noted.

The new rowing and canoeing base with a budget of ₾6.62 million ($2.427mln) meets international standards and includes training facilities, athletes' housing and other spaces.
