Eight Georgian wine companies, ranging from large corporations to small-scale wineries, showcased their produce at the Daejeon International Wine Festival in South Korea between Friday and Sunday with the backing of the National Wine Agency and the Embassy of Georgia.

The Agency said the Festival provided a platform for Georgian producers to present their offerings to Korean wine professionals, “fostering awareness and paving the way” for increased exports.

The participation in such significant events is crucial for diversifying export markets and enhancing the global presence of Georgian wine”, the body said.

Tarash Papaskua, the country’s Ambassador to Korea, was also present at the Festival.

Since the inaugural presentation of Georgian wine in Korea at the Seoul International Wines and Spirits Expo in 2015, the country has expanded its exports to the country, the Agency said.

Georgia exported 68,000 litres of wine to Korea in the first nine months of this year, marking a 50 percent year-on-year increase.
