The Georgian National Wine Agency on Thursday said an event in Poland had hosted a promotion of the Georgian Saperavi wine as part of the General Assembly of the Association of Polish Sommeliers.

The event featured a special tasting seminar titled Saperavi Experience: Secrets of Georgia's Red Treasure, and was attended by over 100 sommeliers.

The seminar showcased the culture, history, and traditions of Georgian wine as well as modern industry trends.

The Agency said various promotion events were being organised in Poland, a “strategic” destination for Georgian wine, with its financial and logistical support throughout the year.

The body also provided data on exports of Georgian wine to Poland that said the country exported 4.5 million litres from January to September, representing a 12 percent increase compared to the previous year.
