Twelve Georgian wine producing companies featured at the Wine and Gastronomy Festival in the city of Théoule-sur-Mer in France, where 15 varieties of wines from smaller Georgian wineries were also presented, the National Wine Agency said on Tuesday.
The Agency presented the wines with the support of its contractor company Le Pont Caucasien. It also said demand for Georgian wine - particularly the varieties stored using the traditional qvevri clay vessels buried underground - was increasing in France.
The body also noted it had promoted Georgian wine in international markets through marketing campaigns since 2013.The festival has been organised since 2008 and hosted wine and agriculture producers, consumers, importers and gastronomers.
