Ruling party official, UK Ambassador discuss ties

Bilateral relations between Georgia and the United Kingdom were discussed by Givi Mikanadze, the Chair of the Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Committee of the Georgian Parliament and Gareth Ward, the newly appointed British Ambassador to the country on Tuesday, the Parliament said.

At the introductory meeting, the Chair informed the Ambassador about “main directions” of the Committee and its planned reforms.

The sides noted the importance of the British Council’s role in further strengthening the relations and the “union between the two nations”.  

The Parliament also said Mikanadze congratulated Ward on his appointment.
