Givi Mikanadze, the Head of the Permanent Delegation of the Parliament of Georgia to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, on Tuesday held a meeting with Alain Berset, the Secretary General of the CoE, to discuss the country’s “important” role in the organisation.

The officials also reviewed the country's “readiness to actively continue cooperation” with the CoE, at the introductory meeting held in Strasbourg, which was also attended by Tamar Taliashvili, Georgia’s Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe.

Mikanadze congratulated Berset on his election as the Secretary General of the CoE in June and wished him success in his future work.
