The Migration Department of Georgia's Interior Ministry arrested and expelled 42 citizens of various countries for illegal residence last month, the body said on Wednesday.

The Department deported citizens of Turkmenistan, Iraq, Turkey, India, Iran, Nigeria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Jordan and Pakistan, who had entered the country and resided without a legal status.

The body said among the deported were individuals involved in “various anti-social activities” in the country.

Some of the individuals left Georgia voluntarily, it added, while others were forcibly expelled based on “measures taken” by the Department.
